Arc System Works has revealed the full Amazing Guardians team for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, with Peni Parker confirmed as the fourth member alongside Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, and Star-Lord. The announcement was made live at the Arc World Tour 2025–2026 Finals in Korea on 22 March 2026, with producer Takeshi Yamanaka delivering the reveal via the PlayStation Blog. The game launches August 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC.
The Amazing Guardians: Full Team Confirmed
The Four-Character Roster
Arc System Works confirmed the complete Amazing Guardians team, the second of five planned four-character teams in the game:
| Character | Alter Ego | Voice Actor |
|---|---|---|
| Spider-Man | Peter Parker | Josh Keaton |
| Ms. Marvel | Kamala Khan | Dalia Rooni |
| Star-Lord | Peter Quill | Scott Porter |
| Peni Parker | — | Risa Mei |
The Amazing Guardians are the second team confirmed for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, following the previously announced Unbreakable X-Men.
Peni Parker’s SP//dr Brings Mech Combat to the Roster
Peni Parker — a Japanese-American student and the spider hero of a parallel universe — pilots SP//dr, a mech suit created by her father. A Japanese-American, Peni occasionally switches into Japanese dialogue in-game, a detail Arc System Works confirms carries across different language voiceover options.
In the reveal trailer, Peni fights using SP//dr’s size and reach for high-damage brawl exchanges, combining large-body attacks with deployable gadgets and projectile tools. The playstyle reads closer to a large-body brawler than a traditional zoning mech character — SP//dr’s toolkit allows Peni to improvise strategies on the fly rather than playing from fixed range.
The choice to make Peni a gadget-driven brawler fits Arc System Works’ design philosophy for MARVEL Tōkon: varied archetypes within each team, with each fighter bringing a distinct playstyle that rewards different player preferences.
New Stage, Features, and Story Character Announced
Knowhere Stage
Alongside the Amazing Guardians reveal, Arc System Works confirmed a new Knowhere battle stage. In Marvel lore, Knowhere is the severed head of a Celestial — the cosmic base of operations for the Guardians of the Galaxy and the location where the Amazing Guardians team’s story unfolds in Episode Mode.
Automatic Team Name Generation
The reveal also introduced Automatic Team Name Generation: a new feature that generates a Marvel lore-based team name based on your four selected characters. The name appears on screen and is announced by a ring announcer mid-match. Different character combinations produce different names drawn from Marvel comics continuity.
The Promoter — A New Story Character
The trailer introduced a new non-playable character: The Promoter, whose true name is Xirena Awhina, an Elder of the Universe. She travels the galaxy organising high-stakes entertainment events, and in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, she invites heroes and villains to a tournament that will determine the fate of Earth. The Promoter is the engine of Episode Mode’s narrative and is voiced by Sabrina Fest.
EVO Japan 2026 Demo: 12 Playable Characters
The latest playable demo for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be available at EVO Japan 2026, held in Tokyo from May 1–3. The build features 12 playable characters — including Peni Parker — and four stages, one of which is the newly confirmed Knowhere arena.
For SEA players who cannot attend EVO Japan, Arc System Works has confirmed two closed betas were held on PS5 in 2025 (September and December). No further beta dates have been announced.
What the Amazing Guardians Reveal Means for SEA Players
Arc System Works dropped the Amazing Guardians reveal at the Arc World Tour Finals in Korea — a deliberate choice. The Arc World Tour is the global competitive circuit for Capcom fighters, and its Finals draw competitors from across the world, including strong representation from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. Placing a character reveal at the Finals is a direct signal about who the game is being built for: the FGC, not just casual Marvel fans.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is confirmed for PS5 and PC, with cross-play support. Arc System Works has confirmed the base roster will include 20 playable characters split across five teams, with at least four additional characters planned as downloadable content.
What remains unconfirmed: a ranked competitive mode, tournament-legal ruleset details, and MYR pricing. No MYR price is currently listed on the PlayStation Store MY. Regional pricing is expected closer to the August 6, 2026 launch date.
